Commissioning Alexandra to design a bespoke game is an opportunity to tell the story of a person’s life while delving deeper into the process and materials. A fun and inspiring process, undertaken in close conversation with the client, the result is something deeply personal and biographical.

We seek out only the most extraordinary, sustainable materials to work with, from a rare piece of partially fossilised Bog Oak to wonderfully knotty London Oak. With each new creation, the hunt begins anew for the veneers and woods with distinctive grains and patterns that will become the talking points in Alexandra’s next design.

Showcasing the skills of Britain’s finest artisans, we work with close to 20 specialist workshops across the UK. These include one of the world’s most respected marquetry artists and a master cabinet-maker. Handcrafted with great attention to detail, our backgammon boards and luxury games never leave our hands until Alexandra has given the final seal of approval.
