AT THE BEACH
Designed for a client’s beach house in Cornwall, Alexandra hand painted the board with sailing boats, sea life, surfboards and other Cornish themes, alongside sharks to reference the client’s love of these apex predators of the ocean. Crafted from limed oak, which is so indicative of carefree days beside the beach in Cornwall, other personalised details include embossed secret messages in leather and tiger’s eye playing pieces, shot through with bands of iron, chosen because they resemble water in the sand.
A BELOVED GARDEN
Having recently relocated to a new home with the most spectacular garden, a client wanted to create an anniversary present for her husband that celebrated this new chapter in their life. Incorporated into the bespoke design is a backgammon board, hand-painted by Alexandra, featuring some of the couple’s favourite flora and fauna in their beloved garden, alongside the flowers of the Cantua buxifolia, better known as the magic tree – a charming nod to the client’s Peruvian roots.
A FAMILY CREST
Designed for a specific room in the client’s home, the golden bamboo leaves reflect one of the recurring motifs in the incredible collection of Asian art on display: the bamboo leaf. Entirely realised in wood marquetry, the table was further personalised with the owner’s family crest inlaid on the reverse of the table and engraved on every playing piece.

Created in collaboration with a master cabinet-maker who thrives on exploring the boundaries of contemporary craftsmanship, our custom-made games tables are extraordinary, functional works of art. Effortlessly folding and rotating between playing surfaces, hidden compartments for playing pieces are seamlessly incorporated into the designs.
NINE DIFFERENT WORKSHOPS
Each Games Table passes through the hands of nine different UK-based artisans, including a master joiner, polisher, stone cutter, leather artist, fine art printer or marquetry expert on its journey to creation.
