Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Google and Apple Pay. We also accept payment via bank transfer, please contact us for our details.

Do prices include VAT? (UK sales tax)

All UK (GBP) prices on our website include 20% VAT (UK Sales tax). If you are shipping outside the UK, VAT will be automatically deducted at checkout. To view our products excluding VAT, add a product to your basket and enter a shipping location outside the UK.

We offer complimentary shipping on orders over $500. Please kindly note that this excludes international duties and taxes which vary per country of destination.

What are import/custom duty charges?

Import/Custom duties is a tax on imported products collected by a country’s local custom authorities. These will need to be paid online via a secure payment link prior to delivery.

Please contact customs at your chosen shipping address country for their rate or get in touch with us for further support and guidance.

How long will it take to receive my order?

All items in stock on the website will be dispatched within 2-5 working days unless otherwise stated. Personalised items will take an additional 7-10 days once you have approved the artwork.

Shipping times depend on your destination and customs clearance. Please contact us directly if you wish to receive your order for a specific date.

What is your returns policy and how do I return an item?

You are able to return or exchange your order within 14 days of receipt. The product will need to be in its original packaging and in an unused condition.

Please note that any personalised, bespoke or made-to-order products cannot be returned or exchanged.

Please contact us prior to returning your item. We will assist with creating a return shipping label and book a collection at your preferred date and time. Please kindly note that we will deduct the return shipping fee from the refund amount.

Where are your products made?

Our products are hand-crafted in the UK by small independent artisans.

Superior suppliers in Portugal craft our leather playing pieces and shakers, with our travel backgammon sets’ components handcrafted in Spain.

Am I able to personalise my order?

All games except playing cards and score pads can be personalised.

Our lead time for personalisation is 7-10 working days. Our design team will send you a digital mock-up of the engraving for approval once we receive your order.

Can I order a backgammon set in a different wood?

Yes, we have a variety of woods in stock. If you prefer a lighter or darker wood, get in touch and we will send you available options. Once we have confirmed availability, you can simply place your order online.

Do you have any other designs available that are not listed on the website?

Please contact us directly to see archive designs available now or for pre-order.

Can I visit Alexandra Llewellyn Studio?

Our Belgravia Studio is by appointment only, please get in touch to book your visit.

Do you offer gift-wrapping and gift messages?

Our products are carefully gift-wrapped in an elegant presentation box with black ribbon. Backgammon sets are presented in a black cotton velvet bag and travel sets in a black Alexandra Llewellyn slipcase.  To add a personalised card to your order please make a note at checkout or contact us for more information.

Care instructions

Please store in a dry place and avoid contact with humidity and dampness and exposing the game to extended periods of sunlight and heat. We recommend keeping your game in the sleeve supplied when not in use. 

For regular cleaning, we would suggest using a micro-fibre cloth to lightly dust and remove finger marks and other impurities from our wooden products. Our products are hand-lacquered to protect the wood and leather but knocks or wet spills can dent or stain the surface. If exposed to water, do not dry with direct heat. Mop up any spills immediately with a clean cloth.

Our natural semi-precious stone playing pieces could chip if not handled with care. Be sure to store them in the tray or compartment in your game. Do not leave them loose within your games set. 

Leather products should be cleaned with a mild soap and water solution and left to dry naturally.
