The tulip is redolent with memories of my childhood. My father always had pots overflowing with different varieties and my Tulip backgammon board captures the excitement of waiting for them to emerge in a kaleidoscope of colour.
A flower celebrated for its extraordinary variety
Introduced to Europe from the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century, tulips were once worth more than their weight in gold. Symbolic of deep love, the design features some of Alexandra’s favourite varieties, from classic goblet-shaped tulips to spectacular fringed blooms.
