Alexandra has designed a series of three atmospheric backgammon sets that channel the colours of her favourite sunshine cities. With their neon hues and abstract silhouettes, two photographic designs have a stylish retro vibe, while an intricate, after-dark creation in wood inlay brings a beautiful depth to the Midnight Marquetry backgammon set.
Using a striking ombré effect, Alexandra captures the beautiful gradation of colours in the sky as dusk falls over America’s legendary beaches. With red shading into electric blue, overlaid with palm trees, a flamingo – a Florida icon – and abstract waves that roll across the board, the scene is set for a thrilling game of backgammon.
Housed in a Ziricote wood box, Alexandra’s neon-flecked design combines stylised and photoreal elements. Digitally printed by a printer who specialises in the production of high-quality fine art, a lifelike flamingo perches in the corner and seagulls swoop across the sky, juxtaposed with palm trees that take the place of triangles on the board.
