Our Turquoise double cards box features Alexandra’s signature abstract design, translated in walnut and bird’s eye maple wood, dyed a vivid shade of turquoise – a colour Alexandra often returns to in her marquetry work.
Incorporating several design details from our luxury playing cards, including the gold-toothed Ace of Spades in a winning hand of four aces, Alexandra’s artwork is translated on the box by an artist who is an authority in the rare craft of wood marquetry, with a very natural finish so that the different textures and grains of the woods can be fully appreciated.
Designed to seamlessly store two packs of our limited-edition Signature cards, one in each colourway, the wooden tray lifts up to reveal a Signature score pad, printed with some of Alexandra’s most-loved designs on sustainable Colorplan paper, and a pencil for keeping track of games.
The marquetry has been perfectly aligned for a seamless join where the lid meets the box, which is handmade by Alexandra’s highly skilled master joiners to incorporate beautifully considered design details, including polished brass hinges and intricate dovetail joints on the removable wooden tray.
