I wanted the design to capture that quintessential summer vibe of cooling off in the swimming pool beneath the hot sun, with a surprise visitor who is sure to bring a smile to your face every time you play.
Alexandra’s original design channels the colours of summer. Bright tones of blue are highlighted with splashes of yellow, with reflections in the water revealing submerged triangles and the silhouette of a very well-known predator.
Presented with luxurious semi-precious playing pieces in grounding and calming white marble and balancing blue sodalite, The Chase: Summer Travel Backgammon Set opens to reveal a leather box containing the playing pieces, dice and doubling die.
Reflecting the movement of the waves and the distortion that occurs below the surface, the swimming pool is digitally printed with incredible photorealism on the leather playing surface, with the swimmer pictured mid-stroke and the shark ready to pounce.
